Massachusetts Maritime Academy (MMA) is a regimented state college located in Buzzards Bay, MA. In 2004, MMA joined the growing ranks of colleges to offer a Bachelor’s Degree in Emergency Management. The Emergency Management program offers students the scientific and analytical background to approach emergency situations with knowledge and skill. Classes such as Exercise Planning, Emergency Management Planning, Risk Management, and Information Technology in Emergency Management Operations lay a strong foundation. The academics are supplemented with two mandatory internships, customary to MMA’s “Learn, Do, Learn” tradition. The graduating Class of 2008 was the first to include the Emergency Management degree.
