Key Resources for Application Submission

Applicant Guidebook (4/8/25) – The Applicant Guidebook complements the certification/recertification application and outlines acceptable ways to meet each requirement, plus a list of required documentation.

Sample Training Allocation Chart (TAC) – The TAC was developed as a resource for Commissioners and applicants to categorize training that the Commission has evaluated. The TACs are not an exhaustive list of training that could meet training requirements. Subject areas and training courses not shown may be acceptable if the applicant provides the appropriate documentation. Details on this required documentation are in the Applicant Guidebook.

Certification Change Log – Captures changes to the USA Sample Training Allocation Chart and is the source for ensuring all submitted documentation complies with the most recent version of the Applicant Guidebook. Applicants are responsible for ensuring they have checked the change log before submission of application materials.

Uniformed Services Guides – Tailored guides to assist members of the U.S. Uniformed Services in achieving the AEM or CEM certifications. These guides provide branch-specific guidance, aligning military experience and training with IAEM certification requirements.​

Aligns with the Exam Blueprint (i.e., Risk and Crisis Management, Incident Management and Coordination, Emergency Planning and Preparedness, Disaster Response and Recovery Operations, and Leadership and Organizational Management.)
