There are two types of initial certification offered: the Associate Emergency Manager (AEM) and the Certified Emergency Manager (CEM). The requirements are thoroughly outlined in the online application and in the Applicant Guidebook.
$430 (USD) for IAEM members; $640 (USD) for non-IAEM members (certification fees are non-refundable and non-transferable)

Candidates who do not pass the exam on the second attempt or receive notification that their credential application has been rejected must pay the certification fee again and start the process from the beginning.
Keep in mind that your certification application fee must be posted to your record prior to submitting your certification application. Payments made online are batched and posted on the next business day, so plan accordingly.
