Stay informed about the latest opportunities to advance your emergency management credentials. Below is a list of upcoming Associate Emergency Manager (AEM) and Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) exam dates:


May 1, 2025 – Murfreesboro, TN

Register Now

  1. Location: Tennessee Emergency Management Association (EMAT) Conference, 1200 Conference Center Blvd, Murfreesboro, TN 37129
  2. Time: 8:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. CST
  3. Registration Deadline: April 17, 2025 (onsite registration is not available). The certification application fee must be paid before sitting for the exam.
  4. Additional Information: This is an online exam offering; computers will be provided.

May 5, 2025 – Burlingame, CA

Register Now

  1. Location: CESA Annual Conference, 1800 Old Bayshore Highway, Burlingame, CA 94101, Anaheim Meeting Room
  2. Time: 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. PST
  3. Registration Deadline: April 21, 2025 (onsite registration is not available). The certification application fee must be paid before sitting for the exam.
  4. Additional Information: This is an online exam offering; computers will be provided.

May 30, 2025 - Fort Worth, TX – The live Preparatory Course will be offered in addition to the exam.

  2. AEM/CEM Preparatory Course Time: 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. CST
  3. AEM/CEM Exam Time: 2:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. CST
  4. Registration Deadline: May 16, 2025 (onsite registration is not available). The certification application fee must be paid before sitting for the exam.
  5. Additional Information: This is an online exam offering; computers will be provided.

Important Examination Notes

  1. Certification Application Fee: Must be paid before sitting for the exam.
  2. Registration: Onsite registration is not available. Please register online by the specified deadlines.
  3. Identification: Bring a valid photo ID to the exam.

Retest Policy

If an applicant does not pass the exam:

  1. First Retake: One additional attempt is allowed at no extra charge after a 60-day waiting period.
  2. Subsequent Attempts: After two unsuccessful attempts, applicants must repay the certification fee to receive two more opportunities.
